LEST WE FORGET

I was thinking, Why does it seem that we so easily forget the good things God has done in our lives? So I did abit of a search on the internet and found afew theories about why we forget:

1. Decay.- this is when we do not rehearse in our mind what happened, therefore over time we forget. Maybe we need to slow down and think more often about what God has done in our lives in the past, and stop hiding behind the the words, " I guess I have been to busy".

2. Displacement.- This is when old memories are replaced by new ones.

3.Interferance.- This is when you have two memories that sound similar and begin to worp together and distort the memories. Maybe this is like when we look back over our lives and down play Gods hand in situations and put it down to mear flook.

4. Attention( this title I made up). This is when we give the most of our attention to the most important thing going on at the time. For example if you are driving down a highway with your children arguing in the back seat, your brain will give priority to the most important thing happening—namely, navigating the busy road in front of you—and ignore less important information like the sounds of bickering kids."

Maybe our lives are getting so "busy" that we forget Gods soft hand and still small voice in situations. We need to get our priorities straight.

The only way I can think of to help us remember the things God has done in our lives is to take the time daily, weekly, monthly or yearly to remember the things God has done. In my opinion that is good blogging, hahahahahaha, just kidding.
